Inspiring Young Minds Through Storytelling
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Assalam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh!
Greetings and Welcome!
My name is Nese Djouma. Alhamdulillah, I work as a Mental Health Counsellor, driven by a strong passion for fostering emotional wellness. I have been blessed to work with children and young individuals, especially during my time with Place2Be, where those experiences have profoundly influenced my understanding and approach to emotional growth and mental health in children. I often witnessed how impactful gentle dialogues and creativity were in helping children interpret their surroundings.
In addition to my therapeutic practice, I have a passion for creativity, particularly in the realm of storytelling. Alhamdulillah, I am thankful for the opportunity to channel that aspect of myself into writing my very first children's book, Luqman and the Rising Leaf, which, In Shaa Allah, resonates with young hearts and minds. I am thrilled to share this project, which I had revisited by the grace of Allah after starting a few years ago. This tale was inspired by those tranquil, inquisitive moments that children often experience - when something as simple as a falling leaf ignites profound questions.
In this narrative, a thoughtful young boy ponders why a leaf has fallen from a tree, and with the guidance of his caring sister, they set off on a discovery adventure. Together, they delve into nature, explore emotions, and confront change, ultimately returning their reflections and revelations to their Creator. This story, In Shaa Allah, is a tender, comforting story that nurtures curiosity, faith, and connection.
